Zoe-perry
Perry was born in Chicago to the actors Laurie Metcalf and Jeff Perry. Perry made her debut on television in the role of Jackie Harris, a character which was played by her mother in Roseanne, an ABC show Roseanne. Her parents did not allow her to start acting in front of her family until adulthood, as they feared the strain it might cause. Perry acknowledged that she was not confident in her acting during high school, but started doing it to connect with new people during her time at Northwestern University after switching from Boston University. Perry managed to get minor TV roles in Law & Order: Criminal Intent following her graduation. Homesickness, however, caused her to move to California and she returned working in the stage. Perry was a part of the cast with her mother on stage in The Other Place at Broadway the previous year. The show was directed by Eugene O'Neill. Pulitzer Prize winner Anna Christie and Kevin McKidd. This was presented in the West Los Angeles' Odyssey Theatre Ensemble. Perry was in nine episodes on ABC's drama The Family during 2016. Perry was also featured in an appearance on ABC's political thriller Scandal along with her father. In addition, she played her older Mary Cooper in Young Sheldon which was an CBS spin-off of The Big Bang Theory. She was cast in the role in spite of her strong relationship with the character's family.
